AI Visibility

How often and how prominently a brand appears in AI-generated answers across models and prompts.

AI visibility measures whether AI assistants mention your brand when people ask questions in your category. When someone asks ChatGPT for the best help desk software, the brands that show up in the answer have AI visibility for that question. The brands that never appear do not.

It is the AI-answer equivalent of ranking in search results, but the surface is a synthesised paragraph rather than a list of blue links. A brand can rank well in Google and still be invisible in AI answers, because the models draw on their own training data and their own choice of live sources.

Whaily measures AI visibility as the share of tracked prompt responses in which the brand was mentioned or recommended, aggregated across every model and prompt you track. A brand mentioned in 40 of 100 responses has 40 percent visibility for that set of prompts.

Frequently asked questions

How is AI visibility different from SEO?
SEO optimises for ranked link lists on a search results page. AI visibility is about being named and cited inside a generated answer, which the model assembles from training data and live sources rather than a ranked index.
Can you measure AI visibility across different models?
Yes. Whaily runs the same tracked prompts against ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity, then reports visibility per model and in aggregate, since a brand can be strong in one model and absent in another.
